“Sheep Industry in Arizona”, with Margaret Hangan.
Sheep have long been driven from the mountains to the valleys in Arizona, and still are to this day, including in the Verde Valley. Learn about the herds, herders, and routes.
Living History programs are a FREE educational and entertainment program held at the Museum at 10 a.m. Join us!
John Bezy, geologist and co-author of “The Artistry and History of Mata Ortiz,” has worked with the potters of Mata Ortiz for 30 years. He will offer a presentation on the inspiration, history, and appreciation of this unique regional art form at the Museum on Monday, March 19, at 11 a.m.
Artist Oralia Lopez has set the standard in Mata Ortiz for finely executed geometric pottery designs and will be bringing some of her pottery for sale at prices similar to direct prices in her village.
Join the Museum for this popular program and pottery sale. This is a free event open to the public.
Keep cozy by the fire in the Museum’s historic Jordan House red rock fireplace as you enjoy this dramatic reading of the Dickens classic by local award-winning actor Michael Peach.
In lieu of paid admissions, each guest is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Sedona Food Bank.
Arrive early to enjoy the Christmas in the Park festivities, and take advantage of sales in the Museum Gift Shop, which specializes in locally made items, movies made in Sedona, and books, toys and gifts.
